The history of our house, "Le gîte Alsacien":
We freely admit that our house choose us, and it was love at first sight for a real Alsatian property with a rich history.
Its first inhabitant was a barrel-maker, and in 1578 he probably showed the people of Ribeauvillé his skills and craftsmanship.
We can still hear the sound of the horses' hooves as they pull the barrel-laden cart over our cobbled courtyard.

"Gite Alsacien" is a listed building,, built in 1578, with its foundations on the 13 th century town walls .
