Le Nid is a centuries old "Maison de Maître" whose gardens and courtyards are enclosed by stone walls. It is located on the edge of a sleepy hamlet just outide of Cluny in the beautiful rolling hills of Southern Burgundy. The house has been restored to provide a modern standard of comfort but has retained its characteristic features, beams, stone floors, fireplaces, and has been lovingly decorated to make one feel at home with books, games and the artist owner's personal touch. As the main house is easily divided into 3 cosy apartments, it is ideal for friends or families holidaying together. Additional rooms can be arranged for more guests. The region is relatively unknown but those who have been here will attest to its harmonious beauty and unspoilt nature. Relax in the garden or have a dip in the pool, listen to the birds and the wind in the poplars. For the sportsminded, country walks are at your doorstep, horse-riding (own horses can be stabled nearby), tennis and cycling nearby, kayaking and golf farther afield. For those seeking history or cultural activities, Cluny, Beaune, Chalon, Tournus and Lyon are all within 7 min. to an hour's drive. Chateaux, artist or craftsman studios, museums, or working farms with delicious cheeses and wines are plentiful within a few minutes and Cluny's spiritual legacy can be felt all round with Taizé at 15min., and the many Romanesque churches to be seen in Chapaize, Paray-le-Monial, and Tournus to name a few of the ca. 250.
The owners Marc & Karen live nearby in a separate house and are at guests' disposal to provide information, or arrange activities or weekends a la carte for groups. Guests can be assured as well that pool and garden receive the daily maintenance consistent with a high quality vacation home.
