Country House for rent, just over 30 min from ROME - The house is located on a hill, among olive-trees and vines, overlooking the valley of the river Tiber, and with Umbria and the Appennines just on the horizon. The access is through a quiet dirt track, but at the same time it is within easy reach of many interesting locations: 3 km from Orte (old village perched on the top of a cliff), 20 km from Terni and Viterbo (very picturesque medieval town), and only 70 km from Rome (just over 30 min by train). In just over one hour you can reach a very beautiful beach in a natural reserve, or the towns of Perugia and Spoleto, while Florence is just 1h.30 away. The house has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, a very spacious kitchen - dining room with all modern comforts (except microwawe oven) and French windows opening on a terrace with pergola. Theren is also a large living room with fireplace and piano and a conservatory with full view of the garden and a covered terrace. In the garden you will find a swimming pool of 12x6m with diving board and Roman staircase. There is also a baking oven (ideal for pizza) at a certain distance from the house, with a stone sink, stone table and pergola. The location is nicely breezy during the hot summer nights and amenities include an orchard, fruit trees, a beautiful brook (along which you can easily walk for one hour). With a short walk from the far end of the garden you can reach a thermal swimming pool (water temperature about 34°C) and tennis court. These are near enough to enjoy but not to spoil the quiet of the house and garden. The gardening, pool maintenance, feeding of hens, dogs, cats etc are all taken care of. Cleaning or baby-sitting can be arranged at extra cost.
Please note that this is not a house solely intended for hiring, but my own residence where I usually live with my four children. Of course you will find cupboards available for your personal effects. There are beds for eleven to twelve adults (12 including a very close couple, because one of the 6 rooms is equipped with a "place and a half" bed) and five or six children if you count cradles and camp beds. You will also find high chairs, bicycles of all sizes, swings, table-tennis table etc. The price per week ranges from 2000 to 3000 € depending on the season.
