And still today, your steps are guided to the gargoyles spilling water into the village fountain and the publics wash house.
The accommodation, which is well decorated and attractively furnished, opens onto a terrace. The property has its own wash house fed by a spring nearly all the year long. So, you will be able to have your meals on the terrace and enjoy the spring water gurgling.
Barjols is ideally placed to explore Provence and the Riviera. It is about 90 minutes drive from Nice and the Luberon. Fréjus and St Tropez are only 70 km away.The 'Lac Ste Croix'and the fabulous 'Gorges of Verdon' (the Grand canyon of Europe) with its many activities including sailing, white water rafting, kayaking, boating and swimming are only 20 minutes drive away. The beautiful and historical university of Aix en Provence is 50 minutes drive away. You can also visit the Abbey of the Thoronet and the Prehistory museum in Quinson nearby or go climbing and swimming in the Vallon Sourn which is a mere 8 km away.
