Location, location, location - you will hardly improve it, located in one of the most picturesque villages in the region of Poitou Charente. On the banks of the Charente river, just around the corner from the stunning castle village Les Bruyeres offers superior bed - and - breakfast accommodation in a lovingly restored barn retaining many original features.
The village on the Charente Verteuil has a choice of three restaurants, two bars and, bakers, butchers, general store tobacco /, pharmacy etc.. everything in easy walking distance.
Located just 5 minutes south of the bustling market town of Ruffec, 5km from the main N10 and to reach airports at Angouleme, Poitiers, Limoges and La Rochelle is an ideal place to explore the south-west France.Whether you are looking for accommodation, enjoying a relaxing vacation or just spending a night on your way somewhere else, you will hardly improve the location, facilities and level of housing at Les Bruyeres in Verteuil sur Charente.
Entrance and courtyard
Passing through the grand old farm gates you enter a walled courtyard and private balconies with high, and during the summer, a stunning display of hanging baskets and flower arrangements. At the bottom of the courtyard is an open barn with secure under cover parking for up to 6 cars.
Housing
We have 3 spacious, en suite, bedrooms, dining area plus a communal kitchen in a barn one block and converted, which retains many original features such as exposed beams, stone and dressed Charantaise even a bowl of original supply. All rooms have central heating.
Bedrooms
Each of the three bedrooms has an en suite with shower, sink and hand washing. Each bedroom also has ample storage closet and drawer, electrical adapters English-French, hairdrier alarm and radio / CD. Rooms are serviced daily with towel change if necessary, gel shampoo / shower and soap are also provided. A baby cot and / or a cot can be added if necessary in the three rooms each.
Family room with ground floor - double bed, two closets and sitting area with easy chairs, coffee table and sofa that converts to double bed for families.

Kitchen
One thing we always missed when to stay in bed and breakfast accommodation was the lack of facilities for making hot drinks, preparing picnics or even cook a meal. To this end we have incorporated a fully fitted kitchen for the exclusive use of our guests. In the kitchen you will find: four hob rings, oven and microwave electric oven, kettle refrigerator, coffee percolator, slow cooker, toaster, full set of steam Pots, pans, casseroles and utensils crockery, glassware and flatware dining table seating up to 8 people please help themselves to free tea and coffee whenever you want
In this area you will also find WiFi internet access, TV with all English channels FreeView, a wide selection of books, games and videos and information on local attractions.
French doors lead from the kitchen to a sun terrace overlooking the coating with its beautiful garden covered walkway gravel. In summer you can take your breakfast outside in the morning sun.
We have a separate laundry facilities with washing, drying and ironing if you need them.
Local Restaurants
"Blue Door Café" - in the main square (250 m). The charming Bistro barred serving French-Mediterranean cuisine, the snack bar and beverages.
"La Paloma" - about 10 minutes walk in a country arrangement. Run an English family and offering Mediterranean cuisine and French.
"Dixieland Café" - in the main square (250 m). The bar with beer garden under the walls of castles, also a type of lunches and evening Bistro restaurant serving food. Regular nights of live music
"Hotel Charente" - 5 minutes drive serving a wide selection of classic Irish and French cuisine. Menu bar also available.
There is also a good choice of restaurants and bars in the nearby towns of Ruffec, Nanteuil and Mansle.
Prefer to supply the individual?. Take advantage of our fully fitted kitchen and prepare your own dinner, picnics etc..

Located approximately 25 minutes drive from the airport to Angouleme / Cognac, 45 minutes from Poitiers airport, 1 hour 15 minutes from Limoges and only 5 minutes from the main N10 giving easy access to explore -
Spend some time walking around our beautiful village with its 15th century castle, a church with "the tomb to Release" and the beautiful river Charente.
The surrounding countryside is ideal for bird watching, hiking, fishing, riding, painting etc.. You can also rent canoes for a trip so so Verteuil in the area near Rejallant or take a trip out on our own canoe.
Cities and local Ruffec Mansle are twice weekly market and many other interesting devices
Places to visit
Angouleme - 30 minutes - parapeted city with narrow cobblestone streets and a host of pavement cafes. The Nautilus water park with its man made beach, sailing, wind surfing etc..
The DES Valley The slightly burnt - 30 minutes - over 250 monkeys living in total freedom.
Cognac / Jarnac - 45 minutes - beautiful towns on the Charente river and houses the distillery cognac Hennessy, Remy Martin etc..
Poitiers - 45 minutes - lots of offers to do in terms of art and architecture as well as the impressive church of Notre Dame. The busy center is full of narrow, winding pedestrian streets ideal for shopping and exploring.
Futuroscope - 1hr - amusement theme park offers unique virtual reality for the whole family
Limoges - 1hr - famous for its porcelain manufacture and cobbled streets
The Atlantic Coast - 1hr 30 minutes - visit the fishing port of La Rochelle, Rochefort, Royan their aquarium with fabulous sandy beaches and beautiful trips to Fort Bayard
Saintes - 1 hour - soaked in Roman history, one of the most beautiful cities in France
